Vrboska is a small town and harbour which lies in a narrow and deeply indented bay on the central part of the northern coast of the island of Hvar, surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and a forest of pine. Chief occupations are farming, viniculture, olive growing, fishing, fish processing and tourism.
Vrboska lies in a picturesque cove at the end of a long bay. It is surrounded with pinewood forest and lovely beaches.
The fortified church, which offers a wonderful view on the surroundings and the open sea, represents a unique monument.
Once a place of fishermen and fishing tradition with a still existing proof, the Fisherman's Museum, it is now a tourist centre attractive for its authenticity, peacefulness and beauty.
